How to remove and install rear leveling shock absorbers for full-size GM SUVs equipped with MagneRide (112G-13-R-PAIR and 112G-14-R-PAIR)

 

112G-13-R/PAIR and 112G-14-R/PAIR rear leveling shock absorber replacement Instructions for the following applications:

 

 

 

 

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle.2. Support the rear axle assembly with the proper jack stand.3. Remove the lower shock absorber bolt (1) and nut (2).

4. Disconnect the electronic suspensioncontrol connector (2) and the air leveler hose fitting (1).

5. Remove the upper shock absorber nut (1).

6. Remove the upper shock absorber bolt (1).

7. Remove the shock absorber (1) from the vehicle.

 

Installation Procedure

1. Position the shock absorber (1) in the vehicle.

2. Install the upper shock absorber bolt (1).

3. Install the upper shock absorber nut (1) and tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb ft).

4. Connect the electronic suspension control connector (2) and the air leveler hose fitting (1).

5. Verify that the electronic suspension control connector (2) and the air leveler hose fitting (1) are properly seated and engaged by lightly tugging outward.6. Install the lower shock absorber nut (2) and bolt (3), then tighten the bolt to 115 Nm (85 lb ft)

7. Remove the jack stand from the rear axle assembly.8. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
